Milling & Lathe Machine

Milling and lathing are both subtractive manufacturing processes which create small, detailed custom parts by cutting material away from a larger piece until only the finished subpart is left. The unique advantage of the milling & lathe machine at our metal shop in North Vancouver is that it can cut detailed three-dimensional shapes. From large structures requiring onsite welding and installation to smaller and more intricate designs, the sheet metal experts at Hardings Steel are fully equipped to handle projects of all shapes and sizes.
How It Works
The milling & lathe machine at our North Vancouver metal shop is used to fashion the small, intricate sub-parts of a larger project. First, our knowledgeable engineers will create a detailed blueprint of the desired part using CAD design. Then, the computer-generated blueprint is programmed into the milling & lathe machine, which automatically creates the part. It does this by moving the workpiece around a stationary drill or cutter to remove excess material. Our lathe machine is also capable of forming screw threads among various other miniature, precision parts.
